  • SATELLITE SESSIONS

    These pre-conference satellite sessions are developed and hosted by CUGH’s committees, member institutions and other leading development organizations. They are opportunities to delve deeply into a number of global challenges, create new collaborations and identify actionable steps to address these issues through half or full day sessions on March 7, 2019.
  • ANNUAL PULITZER CENTER-CUGH GLOBAL HEALTH FILM FESTIVAL
    7:00pm to 9:00pm
    Room: Williford C

    The Pulitzer Center and CUGH are pleased to present this annual film festival which will feature a series of outstanding short documentaries on a variety of global challenges by award winning  filmmakers and  Pulitzer Center journalists. The screening will be followed by an audience Q&A with a number of the documentarians.

  • VIDEO COMPETITION WINNERS
    March 16 – March 18, 2018 | 8am to 6pm

    CUGH and The Pulitzer Center present the winners of the 2019 video competition. Filmmakers and documentarians are invited to submit short videos of up to 5 minutes, in two categories: Advocacy, and Innovation. One winner and two honorable mentions were selected for each category. These six shorts will be viewable all day March 16 to 18.
  • AFRICAN FORUM FOR RESEARCH AND EDUCATION IN HEALTH (AFREHEALTH) NETWORKING MEETING

    AFREhealth is an interdisciplinary consortium of African academic institutions and heath professional organizations that work with Ministries of Health, training institutions and other stakeholders to improve the quality of health care in Africa through professional education, research and service to address key health priorities including HIV & AIDS, TB, Malaria, MCH, and NCDs. This networking session enables leadership and other delegates from the conference to interact with AFREhealth’s leadership and other delegates from Africa to discuss common interests and possible collaborations. All are welcome.
  • STAR MEETING | Sustaining Technical and Analytical Resources (STAR)
    6:00pm – 7:00pm

    This is a five-year Fellowship project of the Public Health Institute, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with Johns Hopkins University (JHU), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH).STAR combines Fellowships and Internships with tailored learning and performance support. Participants contribute their skills to their host organization, building capacity while improving their own effectiveness as global health leaders.

    STAR also facilitates global Academic Partnerships, paired academic institutions participate in knowledge-sharing experiements wherein they leverage each other’s talent, resources, and networks to produce solutions toward specific global health challenges, while documenting what works and what doesn’t work in cross-border partnerships.

  • HOW TO TELL YOUR GLOBAL HEALTH STORY (SO PEOPLE HEAR IT)

    Hosts: The Pulitzer Center & Global Health Now
    The Pulitzer Center and Global Health NOW from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health will lead a workshop on tips and tools you can use to  engage the  media, public and policymakers Global health journalists and communication specialists, will share with participants the skills needed to pitch a story, translate it to a lay audience, and make both traditional and nontraditional media work for you. This FREE  workshop is open to all, including  the public, but registration is requested.

  • CUGH Global Health Advisory Service (GHPAS) Meet and Greet
    7:30am – 8:00am

    Since 2015, the CUGH Global Health Program Advisory Service (GHPAS) has facilitated year-long formal mentorship relationships between individuals from member organizations. GHPAS is designed to connect individuals representing institutions that are interested in creating, growing, or strengthening their global health programs, with individuals who have substantial programmatic experience in global health and are committed to help through provision of personalized, targeted guidance.
